Men in the United States have a higher risk of erectile dysfunction than other developed countries, according to the latest study.
The results are published on Tuesday in theJournal of the American Medical Association.
A total of 976,827 men in the United States were randomly assigned to one of the following groups:
Group 1: group 1 received placebo, whereas the other group received a similar amount of Viagra. Participants were told not to engage in any sexual activity.
Group 2: group 2 received Viagra, whereas the other group received placebo.
The results indicate that the number of men in the study in groups 1 and 2 is the same, and the odds ratio for erectile dysfunction is 1.9 times greater than for other developed countries, according to the results.
In the study, only the results for men with diabetes (diabetic ketoacidosis) and hypertension were statistically significant.
Those who had high blood pressure, heart disease, or heart failure were more likely to be hospitalized, and those with a history of stroke, have a higher risk of developing erectile dysfunction.
In addition, men with high blood pressure had an increased risk of developing erectile dysfunction, compared with men with a normal blood pressure.
Researchers believe that the findings may be due to the fact that men with diabetes and high blood pressure are at higher risk for developing erectile dysfunction than other developed countries.
"We think that the findings may be caused by the fact that men with diabetes and hypertension are at higher risk for developing erectile dysfunction than other developed countries," Dr. Michael J. Moffitt, a urology professor at Rutgers University, said in a.
Study results
Researchers analyzed data from the US Department of Veterans Affairs, which provides more than $3.2 billion in health care costs each year to prevent and treat the disease.
During the past five years, the US government has spent more than $6.9 billion on health care for the prevention and treatment of ED.
More than 322 million men in the US are diagnosed with ED each year, with ED contributing to nearly $2 billion in health care costs each year.
To reduce the financial burden on the US health care system, the government has started to reduce the number of prescriptions filled for ED medication.
Since 2010, the average age of men diagnosed with ED has dropped from 54 to 46 years old, with an absolute reduction in ED diagnoses and a corresponding drop in the overall incidence of ED.
ED is a leading cause of sexual dysfunction and affects an estimated 1.5 million US men. About 80% of men in the US may not have had ED at some point in their lives before, and ED can also be a symptom of a more serious underlying medical condition, such as diabetes or high blood pressure.
The condition can lead to damage to the penis, lower sexual ability, sexual satisfaction, reduced quality of life and other adverse effects.
A survey of 1,000 men with ED found that of those who reported having had ED at some time in their lives, 8% reported having a positive impact on their sexual life.
Dr. Moffitt added: "A better understanding of ED as a chronic health condition and an underlying medical condition will enable men to make more informed decisions about their health and treatment."

The story is no different in that the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) has also become more stringent on data on erectile dysfunction.
The NICE has found that data on erectile dysfunction, which includes estimates of prevalence and incidence, is collected by the health service, not the private sector. It's an issue that's been going around for a long time.
In 2010, the government spent $19.4 billion on research to help treat diabetes, and in 2013, it spent $11.7 billion on research to treat hypertension, with the biggest contribution being in the treatment of erectile dysfunction. Meanwhile, the NHS spent $6.2 billion on research to help develop treatments for high blood pressure and diabetes.
There's also a lot of confusion over data collection around ED, and how to collect it.
A 2013 review by the Centre for Clinical and Experimental Research, the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence and the European Commission found that the data collection tools have a lot of limitations. They're not free and they're not regulated by the government.
